Where equipment operates in an area with a defined explosive atmosphere, an unarrested diesel exhaust is an ignition source. Spark arrestors capture and extinguish carbon particles before they leave the exhaust, and are a standard requirement for plant working on refineries, offshore platforms, drilling rigs, gas installations and in bulk fuel handling.
We supply spark arrestors sized to engine exhaust flow, in in-line and end-of-pipe configurations, together with the mounting hardware, clamps and flexible connections needed to fit them.
Specification is a matter of matching engine exhaust flow and back pressure limits — an undersized arrestor raises back pressure enough to damage the engine, so the engine output and exhaust pipe size are both needed at the enquiry stage.
Arrestors require periodic cleaning to stay effective. A unit clogged with accumulated carbon both loses its arresting function and chokes the engine, so build the clean-out into your scheduled maintenance rather than treating it as a fit-and-forget item.

Typical applications
What we need from you
- Equipment make, model and serial number
- Part number from the component, if it has one
- A clear photograph, including the nameplate
- Key dimensions — bore, stroke, thread or voltage
Most enquiries reach us without a part number. Send a photograph and the machine details and we will identify it.
